Kinomii Cafe ("we", "the app") is a study timer and planner. This page explains what information the app uses, why, and the choices you have. You can use the timer without an account; signing in with Google is optional and lets your data follow you across devices.

1. Information we collect

Google account basics (when you sign in): your name, email address and profile photo. We use these only to create your account and show your profile in the app.
Your study data: tasks, deadlines, courses, units, checklist items, study sessions, daily study time, study goal and streak. These are saved on your device and, when you are signed in, in your account so they sync between devices.
Course files you add (PDFs, images, etc.) stay only on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers.
Google Calendar (only if you choose “Connect Google Calendar”): see section 3.
Basic usage statistics: anonymous page-view analytics from our host (Vercel Web Analytics), which do not identify you.

2. How we use your information

To sign you in and keep your study data in sync across your devices.
To show your timer stats, goals, streak, calendar and reminders.
To keep the service working, secure and free of abuse.

We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your data to build advertising profiles.

3. Google Calendar and Google user data

If you connect Google Calendar, the app asks Google for permission to read and write events in your calendar. We use this only to:

show your Google Calendar events inside the Kinomii Cafe calendar and reminders, and
add and update the tasks and exams you create in Kinomii Cafe as events in your calendar.

The app never deletes events from your Google Calendar. To delete an event, delete it in Google Calendar and the app will follow.

To keep the connection working, we store a Google refresh token in your account. It is used only for the actions above. You can disconnect at any time inside the app, or remove access at myaccount.google.com/permissions; the stored token is then deleted.

Kinomii Cafe’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, we do not let people read it except with your consent, for security, or to comply with the law, and we do not use it to train AI models.

4. Where your data is stored

Your device: the browser’s local storage and IndexedDB (study data cache and course files).
Supabase (database and sign-in, servers in Tokyo, Japan): your account and synced study data. Row Level Security makes sure each person can only read and change their own rows.
Vercel: hosts the website and a small server function that connects to Google securely.

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS).

5. Sharing

We share data only with the service providers above (Supabase, Vercel, Google) so the app can work, or when required by law. If you paste a YouTube link as a background, the video is played by YouTube, which has its own privacy policy.

6. Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your account data while your account exists. You can delete items inside the app at any time. To delete your whole account and all synced data, email us at the address below and we will delete it within 30 days. Clearing your browser data removes what is stored on your device, including course files.

7. Children

Kinomii Cafe is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

8. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
